COGS Grant – Edinburgh Booster seats with Baby Factory Partnership.

148 Edinburgh Booster seats were funded which enabled us to again complete the safety in cars programme in conjunction with the Baby Factory. This has enabled families who have been found with unrestrained children in their vehicle and issued a fine by the Police, to have that fine waivered by using the voucher given to them, for a booster seat from the Baby Factory. By presenting evidence of the receipt of the Booster seat to the Police, the fine is then waivered. This has been a real benefit to the whole community by raising awareness of safety in cars, assisted those families in a low decile area who need awareness of safety for their children in vehicles and to comply with the law, and has enhanced community relations with the NZ Police.

Our sincere thanks to the Baby Factory for managing the booster seats and for printing the vouchers which go with this programme. A letter of thanks to the Manager Warren Lowe and letters to the New Lynn and Henderson shops along with a certificate of appreciation will be presented by the Chair.

A full report on the programme along with a certificate of appreciation was presented to the COGS committee at their meeting which was attended by the Treasurer Elizabeth Grimmer. A full accountability report has been finalised.
